It is the sixties.

The space race is on -- two cultures are vying to reach ever further outward, grasping into the void. Each wants to win the race. Moreover, each wants to prove that their ideologies are the best, the only choice.

It is the sixties. More specifically, it is 2062, and, unless you can complete your Faster Than Light (FTL) driven vessel first, you are going to be left in the dust as your enemy colonizes Alpha Centauri and permanently consigns you to this unfashionable planet.
